Dark green glossy foliage, attractive pink or red new growth. Cream flowers September/October. Useful park & timber tree with decorative wood. Attracts butterflies and birds.

Largely restricted to primary subtropical rainforest around Brisbane and the Gold Coast.
Spreading tree that can grow very tall from 5m to 40m. Bark is finely fissured and greyish-brown in colour. Phyllodes are elliptic and slightly curved to 10cm long with 3 to 4 longitudinal veins. Flowers are in inflorescences of white-cream globular heads. Pods are straight or curved containing numerous round, brown seeds.
Grow in a moist, semi-shady spot out of the wind. The plant can grow quite quickly into a large tree so it must have ample room to spread, e.g. 10m. Keep watered in dry spells.
